Golden Wedding of Prince Hans-Adam II and Princess Marie of Liechtenstein. On 30 July 2017, the royal couple in Liechtenstein, Hans-Adam II and Marie, will celebrate their golden wedding.

In addition to the normal version of the issue “Golden Wedding of Prince Hans-Adam II and Princess Marie of Liechtenstein”, an unperforated special edition limited to only 1250 specimens and valid for postage will also appear.

At yearly intervals the member states of the Association of European Public Postal Operators, PostEurop, issue stamps on a common theme. In 2017 their focus is on palaces and castles. Liechtenstein’s contribution to the popular Europa stamps are illustrations of “Vaduz Castle” (value: CHF 1.50) and “Gutenberg Castle” (value: CHF 1.50).

What would happen to Liechtenstein if there were no more people? Swiss illustrator Angelo Boog put this hypothetical question to himself. The answer can be found in his three collages which provide the motifs for the new three-part souvenir sheet entitled “Liechtenstein without us”
