Golden Wedding of Prince Hans-Adam II and Princess Marie of Liechtenstein

Vaduz Castle, Royal Couple, Crown
Appraisal Value CHF 6.30
Motif Vaduz Castle, Royal Couple, Crown

At the end of July 2017, the royal couple in Liechtenstein, Hans-Adam II and Marie, will celebrate their golden wedding. To mark the occasion, an exclusive souvenir sheet with three stamps differing in size and value will appear: “Vaduz Castle” (value: CHF 1.30), “Royal Couple” (value: CHF 2.20) and “Crown” ( value: CHF 2.80). The illustration by Angelo Boog was artistically depicted and underwent hot foil stamping in gold and silver, a pearlescent iriodin coating and multi-tiered embossing in a complex printing process.

The wedding of the then Hereditary Prince Hans-Adam II and Countess Marie-Aglaé Kinsky of Wchinitz and Tettau on 30 July 1967 was a huge event never to be forgotten by the population of the small country. Thousands of people travelled to Vaduz, the capital, to take part in the celebrations. In addition to the service conducted by the bishop at the time, a bridal soirée was held for invited guests at Vaduz Castle and a “Liechtenstein Evening” for the public. To round off the celebrations, there was a grand firework display. Since then, the family has grown considerably in size: the royal couple was blessed with four children who between them have produced fifteen grandchildren.
