China's capital Beijing will host the 2022 Winter Olympics, making it the first city in the world to host both a summer and winter edition of the Olympic Games. From 4 to 20 February 2022, a total of 109 competitions in seven Olympic disciplines will take place at the three venues Beijing, Yanging and Zhangjiakou.

In keeping with tradition, the Philately commissioned an artist from the host country to design the Olympic stamps. Huming Wang designed the two special stamps "Skiing" (face value: CHF 1.10) and "Two-man Bobsleigh" (face value: CHF 2.10), each of which was produced by applying high-relief and foil embossing. The laser foil used for both motifs makes the snow shimmer accordingly.

In the history of the Olympic Games, there are now five athletes who have stood on the podium in various disciplines at summer and winter games. The youngest athlete in this exclusive circle is the American Lauryn William. She won gold in the 100-metre relay in London 2012, silver in the 100 metres in Athens 2004 and a silver medal in bobsleigh in Sochi 2014.
