This year, we are again using the overprinting method for four existing self-adhesive
definitive stamps. This means that the original face value of the stamp
will be visibly corrected and overprinted with the new face value. This
is due to the price increases by Liechtensteinische Post AG. Stamps that
have already been issued remain valid for postage.
The "Marbled
White" definitive stamp from the 2009 butterfly series will now be
issued with a postage value of CHF 1.00 (previously CHF 1.30) as a
result of the overprint. This butterfly from the "browns" subfamily of
butterflies lives along the Rhine and in mountainous regions. The
"Spotted Darter" from the 2020 dragonfly issue will also have a new face
value of CHF 1.20 (previously CHF 2.00). It has completely black legs
and its wings are densely veined.
Two stamps from the 2023 Samina
Valley fauna issue will also be corrected: We are increasing the face
value of the "Alpine Salamander" self-adhesive stamp to CHF 1.90
(previously CHF 0.90) and the "Alpine Silver Ant" is being given a new
face value of CHF 2.50 (previously CHF 1.10) due to the overprinting
process. The shiny black amphibian and the endangered insect are both
native to the wild and romantic Samina Valley.
