FAQ CRYPTO STAMPS

What's behind our crypto stamp?

Our crypto stamp is a post-valid stamp, i.e. you can use it for mailing like all other stamps. There is a Secure QR code (SQR code) integrated into these crypto stamps. When the SQR code is scanned with the associated app, the stamp becomes visible as a digital twin in your collection in the app. Once the crypto stamp is scanned, its digital CV starts in the blockchain. In the digital CV, events of the crypto stamp, such as a successful verification, are stored in the blockchain. These innovations make our crypto stamps forgery-proof, interactive, and exciting.

What is behind the new NFT crypto stamp?

Philately Liechtenstein's new crypto stamp not only combines the classic stamp with a digital twin in the app, but also with an NFT (non-fungible token). The NFT can be transferred to a personal digital wallet, where it can be stored or traded online. The ownership and history of this crypto stamp is digitally tamper-proof.

How does the NFT get from my stamp to my digital wallet?

Via QR code scan:

  1. Scan the SQR code on the stamp using your smartphone camera or QR code reader app (not in the Stamp 4.1 app). You will now be redirected to a website that is only reserved for your crypto stamp. Important: Please do not copy and send the link to unauthorized persons.
  2. Click on "GET NFT". A section with your private key and further instructions will open. Follow the steps described here. Important: The private key is a secret code that is used to authorize the transaction of the NFT to your personal digital wallet. Keep it safe and do not share it with unauthorized persons.

How can you transfer your CHLI NFT?

Transfer your NFT to your digital wallet

  1. Copy the mnemonic phrase from this website. The Mnemonic Phrase is the private key for transferring the NFT. You will find the Mnemonic Phrase on your Crypto Stamp in the hidden area. The mnemonic phrase consists of 12 words.
  2. Click on the ‘Swiss Post Transfer’ button.
  3. If you are using a mobile device, the link should open automatically in the MetaMask app. If this is not the case, enter the URL manually in the browser of the MetaMask app.
  4. If you do not have access to the MetaMask app on your mobile device, please use a desktop computer to open the link.
  5. Paste the mnemonic phrase into the text field provided on the Swiss Post website. This will start the transfer process.

What can I do in the app?

Our crypto stamps app has versatile features.

All about collecting love:

  • You can create a digital collection in the app. Your scanned stamp is automatically added and displayed as a digital twin.
  • Check your crypto stamp for authenticity and verify your original. For this, you need a suitable smartphone with a macro lens.
  • As soon as the crypto stamp has been scanned, its digital CV starts, which is stored tamper-proof in the blockchain.

Fun to play:
  • Themed puzzles can be solved in the app. Learn more about the Principality of Liechtenstein!
  • Once all themed puzzles have been solved, the special puzzle associated with the collectible is unlocked.
  • You can repeat puzzles and improve your own best time.
  • Compare your puzzle's best time with other users.
  • Collect points for the Overall Ranking and Season Ranking.

Which Android version do you need to download the app?

The "Stamp 4.1"-app is available for at least the last three Android versions officially supported by Google. These are currently: Android 11, 12, 13. To ensure that users with older operating system versions can also enjoy the "Stamp 4.1"-app, we also make it available for older Android versions. However, we cannot guarantee that they will work correctly. These are currently: Android 10, 9 (Pie), 8 (Oreo).

Which iOS version do you need to download the app?

The "Stamp 4.1"-app is available for at least the last three iOS versions officially supported by Apple. These are currently: iOS 14, 15, 16.

How do I log in to the app?

After downloading from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, you must first create an account if you do not already have one:

  • Leave an email address
  • Create a secure password
  • Confirm that you accept the terms of use

After clicking the confirmation link in the email, all you need to do is complete your account:
  • Choose a username
  • Select the country you are from
  • Click on "Complete"
You will automatically stay logged in, but you can also log out and log back in at any time in the app. Just enter your username and password to log in.

Which smartphones can I use to verify the stamp?

For successful verification, you need a suitable smartphone with macro lens. Currently, the following smartphones are supported for verification:

  • Samsung S21 Ultra
  • Samsung S22 Ultra
  • Samsung S23 Ultra
  • Samsung S24 Ultra
  • Samsung S25 Ultra

What is the Crypto-Stamp-CHLI joint issue?

With the Crypto Stamps CHLI, CHLI 2.0 and CHLI 3.0, Swiss Post and Liechtenstein Post combine traditional philately with blockchain technology and digital NFTs.

CHLI marked the beginning: two stamps – one from Switzerland and one from Liechtenstein – come together to form the complete design featuring a cow, the Matterhorn and Vaduz Castle. CHLI 2.0 continued the concept as the world’s first crypto Christmas stamp edition, featuring a festive winter design. Both editions were released in six colour variants with different levels of rarity.

With CHLI 3.0, collecting becomes interactive: for the first time, a single stamp is valid for postage in both countries. At the same time, collectors can take part in the blockchain-based “Burn or Save” decision and directly influence their digital NFT.

The Crypto Stamp CHLI consists of six different colour editions. Each country has the same number of stamps per edition. The circulation per country is 12,500 crypto stamps with a total circulation of 25,000.

  • The green cow: 7,500 (5,000 stamps & 2,500 covers)
  • The blue cow: 3,250 (2,000 stamps & 1,250 covers)

  • The pink cow: 150 (120 stamps & 30 covers)
  • The rainbow cow: 50 (40 stamps & 10 covers)

The Crypto Stamp CHLI 2.0 consists of six different colour editions. Each country has the same number of stamps per edition. The circulation per country is 6'000 crypto stamps with a total circulation of 12'000.
