Village Views – Schellenberg
With the “Village Views – Schellenberg” issue, Philately Liechtenstein pays tribute to one of the country’s most historic places. The two special stamps feature characteristic buildings that reflect the community’s cultural and architectural heritage and continue to shape the townscape to this day.
The “St. George’s Chapel” special stamp (face value CHF 1.20) depicts the small chapel situated on a hill, considered one of Liechtenstein’s oldest sacred structures. With its tranquil setting and simple architecture, it symbolizes Schellenberg’s spiritual and historical roots. For generations, it has been a place of faith and reflection and an integral part of the community’s life.
The “Brendlehaus” (face value CHF 1.90) is a typical historic residential building from this region. The building exemplifies Liechtenstein’s traditional construction methods and offers a glimpse into rural living, artisanal craftsmanship, and daily life in times past. The house was built in the local style as a timber-frame structure on a masonry foundation; next to it stands a barn constructed as a board-and-batten timber-frame building with an integrated solid-wood stable.
Harvest Thanksgiving
With the “Harvest Thanksgiving” permanent stamp series, Philately Liechtenstein celebrates the close connection between people, nature, and agriculture. The four designs represent key areas of agricultural production and highlight how strongly the country remains shaped by regional farming and traditional cultivation practices to this day.
The “Vegetable Farming” stamp (face value CHF 1.70) showcases the diversity of local vegetable production. It symbolizes meticulous manual labor, regional supply, and the responsible use of natural resources.
“Crop farming” (face value CHF 3.10) forms an important foundation of regional agriculture; fields and grain crops have shaped Liechtenstein's landscape for centuries.
“Viticulture” (face value CHF 4.30) is also a traditional form of agriculture with a long history in Liechtenstein. It combines artisanal skill with the unique climatic conditions of the Alpine Rhine Valley.
The fourth stamp, “Fruit growing” (face value CHF 6.80), showcases the diversity of local fruit crops. Orchards and fruit gardens shape the landscape in many places and simultaneously stand for regional quality, sustainability, and living tradition.
The series is intended as a sign of appreciation for agriculture and serves as a reminder of the importance of nature, harvest, and regional food supply.
Peace
With the special “Peace” stamp sheet, Philately Liechtenstein is sending a message of hope, humanity, and social cohesion. The three stamps on the sheet feature symbolic motifs that express the desire for peace and optimism in a time marked by change.
The “New Beginning” motif (face value CHF 1.20) represents new starts and movement. It symbolizes the courage to break new ground and work together to create prospects for a peaceful future.
“Confidence” (face value CHF 1.20) symbolizes inner strength and faith in positive developments. It serves as a reminder that hope and community form important foundations for understanding and cohesion.
“Light” (face value CHF 1.90) is considered a universal symbol of peace, guidance, and humanity. Light has also always stood for warmth, hope, and the overcoming of darkness—values that unite people across borders.
The special sheet combines the three motifs into a poetic visual language and invites us to understand peace not as a given, but as a shared responsibility.
Hope
With the special-issue “Hope,” Philately Liechtenstein highlights a universal symbol of optimism and new beginnings. The stamp features a “Dandelion” (face value CHF 1.90), whose delicate seeds are carried by the wind and scatter in all directions.
The dandelion symbolizes hope, wishes, and the power of small changes. Its lightness reminds us that even seemingly insignificant moments can open up new perspectives. At the same time, the motif highlights the connection between nature, transience, and constant renewal.
The special stamp is based on the winning design by Daniel Martini, which was selected as part of a competition in collaboration with the Liechtenstein School of Art. In this way, the issue combines the promotion of young artistic talent with a timeless message of hope and confidence.
